OUR STORY
Our children’s dungarees are special beyond being beautifully made and adorable. There’s a story behind their manufacture that we believe no other clothing company can match.
Our primary makers are based in Bangalore in Southern India — an all-female-founded studio where the majority of the employees come from troubled paths in life. They’ve been given the chance to learn a skill, and the studio supports them at home and work. And then there’s the relationship that Coco and Kiki have with them.
Coco & Kiki
The Founders.
So — who are Coco and Kiki? We are Corrine Amos and Kishana Thomas-Quallo, two thirty-something friends who bonded some years ago. Long walks became big ideas, and we found we shared a vision — to give back. That led to Coco and Kiki.
Mollie
Usually found in the sea or coming out of A&E with a knee-related injury!
Corrine met Mollie at secondary school. They then spent their summers scooping ice cream together, as you do in small seaside towns. Mollie has since branched out a little and currently works as a designer in Hong Kong. She has some big players on her roster, such as John Lewis.
Jas
Usually found transporting kilos of food.
It is often tricky to find people on your wavelength in life, and even more so across continents during a global pandemic. So, stumbling across Jas was incredibly fortuitous. Jas is a Filipino national who moved back home from London before COVID-19 hit. She is based in Negros, a small island in the Philippines. She raised nearly £10,000 whilst gathering and distributing food and essentials to locals who were living hand to mouth at the beginning of the pandemic. We will now take a more viable long-term approach of selecting individuals who’d like to start a small venture but perhaps don’t have the startup capital or the know-how.
Courtney
Has brought a wealth of expertise to the team. She is a woman with many talents, from measuring to marketing. She has a background in Garment Production and is currently pioneering in turning food waste into natural dyes.
